Provenance & Notes
Captain Leslie Norman Goddard CBE BEM RN (1916–1987), originally P/DX.93 RNVR. His original full-size medals and naval memorabilia were dispersed from the family and their present whereabouts are unknown. His great-grandson is seeking to locate and, if possible, reunite his original medals with the family. Known entitlement includes the British Empire Medal (Military Division), awarded in 1941 while serving as Leading Writer Leslie Norman Goddard P/DX.93 RNVR, and later the Naval General Service Medal with “Near East” clasp. He subsequently rose to Captain in the Royal Navy and was appointed CBE (Military Division) in 1971. A set of five miniature medals attributed to him was sold on eBay in March 2021 (item 384051752048) and subsequently by Noonans in March 2026. These are miniature dress medals; the original full-size medals remain unlocated. Any information regarding Leslie Goddard's original medals or associated documents would be greatly appreciated.
